Surrogacy

What is Surrogacy?

It is the transfer of the fertilized embryos of the couples in the laboratory with egg and sperm cells to another woman in case the mother does not have a suitable uterus for pregnancy or does not have a uterus.

This woman carrying the baby of another couple is called a surrogate mother.

The couples who will always apply for surrogacy do not have to use their own eggs and sperm.

In the surrogacy system, the family can use the IVF method if they wish, or they can evaluate all donation options such as egg donation, sperm donation, or embryo donation.

Surrogacy and the Genes of the Baby

Babies born with this method will carry the genetic characteristics of their parents.

Such questions about genetics are one of the most common misunderstandings about surrogacy. Therefore, the baby will genetically resemble its parents, not the surrogate mother.

How is the Surrogate Mother determination process carried out?

It is very important to choose the right professionals in line with the needs of the family. It is possible for the family to choose a surrogate mother professionally, as well as to determine someone from their relatives who meet the necessary conditions and are sufficient.

The surrogacy process is a process that should be followed carefully. Progress with IVF centers and professionals designated for this purpose will help you easily manage the entire process.

When you enter into a surrogacy agreement, you are making an ethical agreement between the parties, which covers the safe and healthy delivery of a child who would not normally be born by their natural parents, and on which you agree on the following terms.

Considering that the surrogacy process is an average of 12 months, it is the most logical method to proceed with professionals. In this context, service providers provide professional surrogacy services in return for an agreement. A person from a close sibling, relative, or close friend circle may also be preferred. If it is not economically feasible to work with a professional, then it may make sense to work with a family member who may choose to help you for emotional reasons rather than the financial benefits that surrogacy can provide.

However, this is a purely emotional decision. Professional surrogates can make it easier for you to start the process and progress from start to finish without facing any of the challenges you may encounter. The process will begin after the family makes the most suitable choice for them.

We would like to remind you that both Egg Donation and Sperm Donation patients can also benefit from surrogate mother service when necessary or desired.

Managing the Process

With AKY HEALTH, you’ll be working with trusted experts to assist you in arranging everything from flights and accommodation to the costs of medications, arranging checkups and screenings, and preparations for finding the right surrogate for you.

In the light of all this information, Cost is a factor, but it will make it easier for determined and willing parents who are aware of different requirements to find a surrogate and start the process.

It is quite easy to see why many people prefer surrogacy as an alternative treatment method, as the legal procedures required by the process, economic requirements, physical and social conditions are fulfilled completely and everything is provided with consideration.

These transactions are not carried out in Turkey due to legal procedures. For these treatment options, services are provided in centers outside of Turkey.

As AKY HEALTH family, we are happy to be with you in choosing the best IVF center and doctor for you.

How to prepare a surrogate mother?

Pregnancy preparation of the surrogate mother is a very specific and comprehensive process.

Specialists conduct gynecological examinations.

Relevant blood tests are performed and also the psychological state of the surrogate mother is reviewed to check how suitable she is for pregnancy.

The treatment of the surrogate mother is planned along with the menstrual cycle to prepare the uterus for pregnancy. During this treatment period, ultrasound scans are performed at regular intervals and embryo transfer is done when the uterus is ready.

If frozen embryos are available, these embryos are transferred. If there is no frozen embryo, the couple’s IVF treatment is synchronized with the surrogate mother’s internal womb preparation, and the embryos fertilized in the laboratory are transferred to the surrogate mother on the appropriate day.
